Ramble along the Station's platform to enjoy this year's art exhibition titled Amach's Amach from some of Galway's well known designers, sculptors, painters & performers from An Criu Collective. Amach’s Amach, an exhibition inspired by the constraints and disconnections of lockdown. The themes of freedom, getting to explore the world again, and “devilment” are explored. An Criú Collective are a group of artists who work hand-in-glove with each other for large arts & theatre organisations in Galway where they are often anonymously called 'the crew'. The collective was formed in 2017 as a way for each artist to show & share their own creative work. There are more than 30 artists in the collective (designers, sculptors, painters and performers). The exhibition will take place in the unique setting of Ballyglunin Station with some pieces specially created for the location. Artists include: Áine Lawless, Bill Wright, Chris Gibbons, Claudia Lamantea, Dara McGee, Dave Donovan, Emma O’Grady, Eugene Finnegan, Esther Stupers, Jojo Hynes, Katya Solomatina, Mary Doyle, Michelle Ruane, Midie Corcoran, Mikey Dawson, Niamh Moloughney, Pete Casby, Róisín Stack, Tommy Casby, Tom Meskell and more.
The Barcelo Brothers will transport you away with their zydeco style of music infused with R&B, Reggae, soul and funk. The Barcelo Brothers were formed by brothers Séamus and Mícheál along with their father Miquel. They have a youthful, raw & energetic beat mixed with a meaningful & socially engaged musical poetry. Séamus and Mícheál sing their own heartfelt songs infused with a contagious ‘joie de vivre’’ Their concerts are always fun and heartwarming!
